Nick Gervin, born in 1981, is an established photographer living and working from Portland, Maine. Despite facing two traumatic brain injuries and battling Post-Concussion Syndrome daily, Nick’s resilience as a disabled artist fuels his prolific creativity. His journey with the Bakery Photo Collective (BPC) began upon the collective's return to Portland in 2017. Nick’s commitment to advancing the collective’s mission led to his election as President of the BPC on March 20, 2023, after serving on the Board of Directors for several years.
Nick’s photographic prowess extends beyond local borders, with his works gracing the pages of esteemed publications such as Zeke Magazine, Aint-Bad Magazine, The Huffington Post, Eyeshot Magazine, and The Washington Post. His debut monograph, “PORTLANDERS,” published by Photo Editions Ltd in November of 2022, stands as a testament to his unique vision and struggles with recovery.
Beyond accolades, Nick remains dedicated to his ongoing long term photographic projects like “American Cemetery,” “Autographs,” and his “State of Maine” series, demonstrating his enduring commitment to capturing the essence of life here in Maine and Portland specifically.
